11° IBWS INTEGRAL/BART Workshop

IBWS 2014 is 11th in the series of successful workshops dedicated to high energy astrophysics and supporting ground-based experiments (e.g. robotic telescopes). The workshop will be held in Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad),  Czech Republic, April 22 – 25 2014. The IBWS is expected to start with welcome cocktail in the evening, April 22, the scientific sessions will start in the morning, April 23. The workshop will include Small satellite day on 23.4., with the objective to bring together scientific experimenters and payload providers with the small satellite designers and realizers.

Originally, the IBWS (INTEGRAL/BART) workshops focused on the work of High energy astrophysics group in Astronomical Institute, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and relevant international collaborators from the field, with strong student participation. Nowadays, the IBWS workshops promote regional collaboration in high-energy astrophysics with emphasis on interface between satellite projects and ground-based experiments (e.g. robotic telescopes).

Planetary Systems of our Sun and other Stars, and the Future of Space Astronomy

This symposium is the first of a new series of events initiated by COSPAR. It will be held every two years in a different area of the world. This first Symposium aims at promoting space and astronomical research on the theme of “Planetary Systems of our Sun and other Stars, and the Future of Space Astronomy” at regional level, which include multidisciplinary sessions and training sessions. Professional, young professional and students in the ASEAN region and worldwide are encouraged to participate. A capacity building workshop will also be organized during the week before the Symposium.
