In this centennial anniversary of General Relativity, we will hold a conference on Hot Topics in General Relativity and Gravitation with the motivation to emphasize the tremendous progresses that have been made in Astrophysics and in Cosmology since Einstein’s discovery of General Relativity (GR) in 1915. This international conference will be held at ICISE as part of the Rencontres du Vietnam. Continua a leggere Hot Topics in General Relativity and Gravitation

Symmetries and Phases in the Universe
Cosmology is a broad interdisciplinary research discipline involving different fields of physics. The main goal of the Excellence Cluster Universe is to face the fundamental challenges of modern cosmology by bridging the gap between the astrophysics and the particle/nuclear physics communities. Observational anomalies challenging the Lambda-CDM cosmological model
In the current paradigm of the Lambda-CDM cosmology, the fundamental properties of the Universe are believed to be well understood, with only minor adjustment of the basic model being left to be done. The global picture of an expanding Universe originating during a singularity at Big Bang is now taken for granted, and some basic properties of the Universe are considered to be known with amazing accuracy. For instance, according to Lambda-CDM concordance cosmology, the age of the Universe is 13.798±0.037 Gyr, quoted with a precision higher than the one with which we know the age of our planet. Rencontres de Blois on Particle Physics and Cosmology
Particle Physics and Cosmology will emphasize the increasing interplay between high energy accelerator based physics and cosmology. The conference will consist of plenary sessions for invited in depth oral presentations (review talks and talks on specific specialised topics), and contributed papers, in the form of relatively short talks. String Theory & Cosmology: New Ideas Meet New Experimental Data
This is the golden age of cosmology. Once a philosophical subject, cosmology has burgeoned into a precision science as ground and space-based astronomical observations supply a wealth of unprecedently precise cosmological measurements. Questions that were recently the stuff of speculation can now be analyzed in the context of rigorous, predictive theoretical frameworks whose viability is determined by observational data. To address key questions about our universe, especially at the energy scales characteristic of its earliest moments, one must invoke a theory of quantum gravity, such as string theory. Conversely, observational cosmology is our most promising window for testing fundamental theories at ultra-high energies. Light from dark side of the Universe
Program of the conference will focus on various issues related to the cosmology and special focus on dark matter and dark energy. Program will consider experimental as well as theoretical aspects of the research area. Poster of the workshop.
DECam Community Science Workshop
This workshop will bring together those with experience in obtaining, reducing, and analyzing DECam data—both from the Dark Energy Survey (DES) and the community—with those who would like to use DECam to take their own data or do science with publicly available DES and community images from the NOAO Science Archive.
