Hot Topics in General Relativity and Gravitation
In this centennial anniversary of General Relativity, we will hold a conference on Hot Topics in General Relativity and Gravitation with the motivation to emphasize the tremendous progresses that have been made in Astrophysics and in Cosmology since Einstein’s discovery of General Relativity (GR) in 1915. This international conference will be held at ICISE as part of the Rencontres du Vietnam. Continua a leggere Hot Topics in General Relativity and Gravitation
Astronomy & Astrophysics from Antarctica
Astronomy & Astrophysics from Antarctica became a Scientific Research Program of SCAR in 2010. Broadly stated, its objectives are to coordinate astronomical activities in Antarctica in a way that ensures the best possible outcomes from international investment in Antarctic astronomy, and to maximize the opportunities for productive interaction with other disciplines. IAU XXIX General Assembly
The IAU Executive Committee, during its meeting last April in Canberra, Australia, approved the IAU Symposia and Focus Meetings (FM) for the General Assembly year 2015. There will be one Symposium (IAUS 314 Young Stars and Planets Near the Sun) which will take place outside the General Assembly, in May at the Georgia State University in Atlanta, USA. Six Symposia and 22 Focus Meetings will take place during the General Assembly in Honolulu. Continua a leggere IAU XXIX General Assembly
34th International Cosmic Ray Conference
The 34th International Cosmic Ray Conference (ICRC) will be held from July 30 to August 6, 2015, in The Hague, The Netherlands. It is an important and large conference in the field of Astroparticle Physics. The ICRC covers: cosmic-ray physics, solar and heliospheric physics, gamma-ray astronomy, neutrino astronomy, and dark matter physics.
The conference poster can be downloaded through this link.
Frontiers in Radio Astronomy
Echoing the first FRA meeting in 2012, we are excited to announce the second international science symposium “Frontiers in Radio Astronomy” to be held in Guiyang, China between July 29th and 31st, 2015. This meeting will focus on most recent development in radio astronomy and to explore the promises of FAST early science operation. It is hosted by National Astronomical Observatories of China and Guizhou Normal University, with support from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. Mocking the Universe
In the coming era of LSST, PanSTARRS, WFIRST, Euclid, ALMA, ELTs, JWST, and other facilities, we want to know: What science can we learn by injecting more astrophysics into mock catalogs, and how can we use mock data to maximize the science output of real data? Paving the way to simultaneous multi-wavelength astronomy
Studying systems, which emit over several orders of magnitude in energy, necessitates the combination of ground based (radio/mm/optical/IR/VHE) and space based (optical-UV/IR/X-ray/VHE) instruments. Continua a leggere Paving the way to simultaneous multi-wavelength astronomy
Accurate astrophysics, correct cosmology
Progress in cosmology increasingly requires a strong quantitative handle on astrophysical contaminants. Equally, many astrophysically interesting processes can be constrained from cosmological survey data. This meeting will bring together experts in a range of fields to take a critical look at the relationship between accurate astrophysics and correct cosmology.
14th Marcel Grossmann Meeting on Recent Developments in Theoretical and Experimental General Relativity, Astrophysics, and Relativistic Field Theories
The Fourteenth Marcel Grossmann Meeting on Recent Developments in Theoretical and Experimental General Relativity, Gravitation, and Relativistic Field Theory will take place at the University of Rome Sapienza July 12 – 18, 2015, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Einstein equations as well as the International Year of Light under the aegis of the United Nations.
